Total long shot I know but I'm looking for a functional Beta machine. My mother is (FINALLY) moving to Oregon and has a bunch of home movies on Betamax. I need a functioning machine so I can digitize them and make DVD's. I don't need a collectors grade (assuming there is such a thing!) machine, just one that won't munch tapes. IF you have one you no longer want let me know!

Thanks

You might try Video Services in Portland; phone 503-761-4415. I have had them transfer old 8mm, slides, photos, and VHS to DVD several times. Nice guy, first-rate work and reasonably priced.
