If your vision is OK with iron sights, then the Skinner will be fine.
Nice thing about Skinners is that they look like they "grew" out of the receiver especially if you get the full length Alaskan type.

While red dots are great, they look out of place on a nice levergun.
Like putting a spinning reel on a fly rod.
