Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and I wanted to talk about binary triggers which brands you like and which brands have you tried and don't like. I'm limited on my information because I only have tried and own franklin arms binary triggers. My first was at 10:22 trigger for my Ruger.. then I picked up one for my AR 15. Then I picked up one from my ruger PC carbine and recently I picked up the one for the Glock 17 GEN three. They all shoot really good although double tapping with the Glock is still awkward for me and the ruger 1022 runs great with the proper mag and ammo but we know how finicky 22's can be.

Guess I'm just an old Fudd on this but... a binary trigger on a handgun??? Sounds like an accidental discharge waiting to happen.

I've shot a couple of different guns with a binary trigger
( By Franklin )

They went bang...or Bang , bang...depending... :D
Not really impressed with the shooting...
Had my fill of full auto fire when in the Army...as in both incoming and outgoing fire.
So items like binary triggers don't have much appeal to me with how and what I like to shoot.

That said...
If you like 'em...and they are legal for where you live....enjoy 'em.
Just hope you have good job ..so as to be able to afford ammo....:D

I have a Franklin Arsenal trigger that was first on my Ruger PC9 then I moved it to my PC Charger. It is pretty slopy and the lever that replaces the safety is pretty delicate. After a dozen or so mag dumps it has lost its thrill factor. Now it is mostly just friends that enjoy putting a magazine or two through it.

In the picture above the single-safe-binary lever replaces the safety push button.

Going deep down the reloading rabbit hole

I have the pc carbine but that charger is cool

I had my PC9 first and definitely prefer the PC Charger. I initially had a brace on the PC charger so I was able to register it for free during the brace ban which saved me $200. I haven't shot my PC9 much at all since I got my PC Charger.

How do you like it? I can't decided whether to get the rifle or the charger.

I don't really see much advantage to the rifle if you get a tax stamp and a stock for the charger. The charger has a 6.5" barrel so it gets decent velocity out of 9mm and you aren't going to gain much out of the 16" rifle barrel. Accuracy wise they are equals. I really appreciate the compact form factor of the PC charger. For me the charger is a more flexible size.

I think to get a nicer shooting gun than the PC Charger/PC9 you will have to drop a good bit more money on a delayed action carbine like an MP5 or similar. The recoil of the Rugers isn't bad, the bolt slap is just kind of annoying compared to my M1 carbine.

Both the PC9/PC Charger are very fun guns to shoot!

Depends on your use. IMO they are all "bad" in the sense that they are more inaccurate the faster you go, don't hold a candle accuracy wise to a "just decent" regular trigger, waste tons of ammo, may make you more likely to use "spray and pray" instead of proper marksmanship, and if you can't cancel the second shot may be a bit dangerous.

However if your use is either 1) get really good at double shots, or 2) range fun, they can be just fine for that.

1) double shots require practice, especially that first heavy trigger pull, but can be quite fast and effective.
2) range fun is obvious but it's not a full auto experience and wastes tons of ammo. For .22 that can be no big deal though.

All imo of course. They are a range toy except in the use case of double shots.

Summary fwiw:

Binaries Illegal in WA due to 5 shots per second language in state law. Legal in OR.

ATF says binaries are legal.

Forced reset triggers (FRTs) atf says are illegal and have confiscated certain FRTs in the recent past. But scotus said bump stocks are legal recently because bunk stocks have 1 shot per function of the trigger. FRTs also have 1 shot per function of the trigger. Therefore they should be the same legally. But until ATF has a court order they don't really care and right now there is no binding nationwide court order for FRTs nationwide (someone correct me if I'm wrong please cuz I recall the angry rare breed guy saying something about winning some court case but I can't recall the details). I haven't heard of any confiscations of FRTs since the bump stock ruling fwiw.

Hoffman super safety who knows. Should be same category as bump stocks but it's an unknown right now (again someone correct me if I'm wrong on that plz).
