Perhaps, but I do like my rabbits and squirrels to know they've been hit.Too common. I mean everyone shoots 300 rounds of that per day at tin cans right?
Kinda like the 2 bore. 1/2 pound of lead per shot.![]()

2 bore recoil:
I was comparing the 260 and the 7mm-08 Ruger Compacts at the time. Personally, I wanted one in 308 but I was buying one my wife would shoot well. At the time the 260 was considered a bit more as a target cartridge and the 7mm-08 as a hunter. We're hunters so I picked the 7mm-08. She's been very happy with the gun.I never imagined I'd own a 7-08 (the 260 Rem seemed more attractive to me) until I saw a 700 Classic so chambered at a gun show. Hunted with it almost exclusively that year, took a nice Pronghorn and then this little Muley buck on the last hour of the last day of the hunt.

Funny you should ask, and I've already answered.@Spitpatch
What calibers don't you have? And almost always in some classic, cool old school rifle. I think you've shot something with about every known caliber on the planet (and then maybe some with alien technology).
Thats a beautyHard to go wrong with that cartridge. One of the great .25 calibers. Mine is a sweet Peruvian Mauser that someone gave it some sweet treatment (got it from another member here) and it's a tackdriver.
