Can't remember what this came on, I think it was from an AR purchased from a fellow member. So this pic rail sits on top of the upper receiver rail, to increase the height of the rear sight by 1/2 inch. I know this was a thing a while back but with flattops it's not necessary anymore. Or maybe it is, I don't know. The sight has spring tension to keep it in the upright position, it will not lock down. Also has the regular small aperture as well as low-light, with a windage knob.
