Im selling my remington 700 BDL LA stock(it was off a 7mm). A guy wants to buy it and put it on his remington 700 300 ultra mag. will it fit his gun? or is the ultra mag action too long, barrel conture differnt EXT thanks for the help guys
To the best of my knowledge, all long action Remington stocks are the same in the action area, the only difference is the barrel channel and the magazine box. The ultra mags use a mag box with cut outs in the sides so the big fat casings will fit, and a different follower. Magnum barrel channels are about the same for all of them.
Action is the same but is your barrel channel magnum contour. Here's an interesting fact , I can take the bolt out of my 1982 Rem 700 25/06 and run it through my 2007 300 ultra mag. Locks down, seems to fit, OBVIOUSLY it's would not work nor am I stupid enough to think it might but as for length and lugs locking down i thought it was interesting.
