AR LPK

I'm putting together an AR build kit for a friend.
It will be his first scratch build.

Trying to find the price-performance sweet spot on all the parts.

For LPK I've used Daniel Defense and Spikes.
Both were very good.

While looking around I found a CMMG bare bones kit with a G2S trigger.
I have read good reviews on the CMMG LPK and the G trigger is a keeper.
CMMG is now putting their kits in a nifty blister pack...

Red Barn Armory lets you build your own LPK. Once I discovered that, nothing else was worth it.

Pretty good deal when you consider the regular price for a G2S

Went with the Magpul aluminum trigger guard.
No equal on that IMO...like Smith or Colt, Magpul has the geometry locked down in regards to how an AR trigger guard should be.

I bought a Strike enhanced LPK a while back for like $70 with a stainless FCG included. Had all the fancy add-ons already in there. Hard to find them in stock though.

Stainless is soft.
I wouldn't be too crazy about a stainless FCG for high volume service.

High carbon tool steel is what you want for a FCG.

Don't know if it's stainless or just coated. It's a great trigger though. Nice and crisp, not gritty at all.

Those are Seekins lower parts on that gun though... well besides the trigger.
