I do my fishing licenses in ID online.Whats the best way to apply for tags in idaho. Online or phone or I'm new and haven't applied for tags before and don't want to miss out thanks
I hope nonrez go that way! The current system is horse puckey. The OP lists their location as Nampa though so they don't have such issues. To apply for a drawing online works great
Nonresident tags go on sale in December first come first served. I'm hearing next year nonresident tags will be in a drawing.

Are you talking about the system as it has been or how it will be next year?the downside of nonresident elk in Idaho is you have to buy the tag before the drawing.
if you don't draw you are limited to general season hunts.
lots more hunters, fewer Bulls.
some antlerless tags, but you better know the country your hunting
You are correct. Then this has not been my experience. The last two years you log in online on certain date in early Dec to get in queue and get a random generated spot inline. When your # comes up you select the tags in the areas you want to hunt if they are still available. They go in cart and you pay for them. If your random generated spot inline is too high the tags you want may not be available. That has been my experience but next year it will be a different program.
yes,,,,, but OP is an Idaho residentBut the paper regs would have told you to get tags as an out of stater you would need to do as I stated above. Moving forward it sounds like a more traditional draw system for tags will be implemented. I hope you can put in as a group.
This is what I was responding to.the downside of nonresident elk in Idaho is you have to buy the tag before the drawing.
