I still use stripper clips for my Mosin Nagant 91/30.

I was contemplating buying some for the 8mm Mauser. BUT, I don't use that rifle all that often at the range and then the price.......OMG!

Aloha, Mark

Only ones I use these days is when .30 Carbine ammunition comes as such and I load them into magazines for M1/M2 carbines. Once used, I've been giving them away. I vaguely recall doing that with AR-15 magazines about a decade ago. As to directly into a firearm, not that I can recall in this century. In the late 90s I fed a Simonov and a Mauser that way.

When I lived in Hawaii.....
I even bought stripper clips for my 7.62 Nato ammo and 5.56mm ammo. But, back then they were either FREE or CHEAP.

PS......Garand Clips.......well, they don't count. Rrrrrright......

.308 Enfield.
Mag is 12 round, so it's a bit goofy using 3 ( or 2 clips and 2 loose rounds)

I have a Spam can of Czech 7.92 can't remember how many rounds total (900-ish), all loaded up in shiny like new clips. I had to open it to see what it was, as all of the markings were worn away.

Have been thinking of selling them. have a bunch of 7mm and 8mm Mauser I have no use for....

Rescue a couple sporters.

Just cleaned out my AR cabinet gave away over 500 bullets and 500 pcs. 5.56 sized brass along with a bag of stripper clips and AR magazine spoons to a friend. His son is a target shooter. :)

Stripper clips are for hurry-up in battle. Hobby shooters don't use them much in my experience. We have the luxury of time to load more slowly. I have some 5.56mm ammo loaded on stripper clips "just in case." But only maybe 6 or 7 clips of 10 ea. I figure my time in battle will be short. And on the AR-15 magazines, you need the little guide so hopefully that hasn't become lost.

I just pull off the ammo and throw the stripper clips in my safe. I was hoping more people use them for 5.56. Have about 100 of them with 3 guides.

If I have to use all 6  of my loaded mags for either an AR or AK then I doubt I will have the time to reload from clips…. I keep a couple that are dedicated range mags so I can load and unload them as needed but leave the rest full.

For an SKS however I enjoy being able to load 10 rd clips in advance of a target shooting trip is nice so I'm not thumbing rounds into the fixed mag every 10 shots.

I store my 556 reloads for range use on stripper clips. I don't usually load my mags with a spoon though. I pull the rounds and load by hand. I keep the spoons with them, use them every now and then, but mostly just for storage purposes.

Like SuperBreed, I too store my reloads on stripper clips. I have filled a few 30 cal ammo cans with 30-06 on stripper clips. Also store .30 carbine reloads the same way. Have not done that with .556 but I should as right now I just have them loose in a 50 cal ammo can.
