Oversight? WTF appointed Musk to an 'oversight' role? If there is any worry about keeping ships in order maybe he should go to the Pentagon, they have failed 7 audits in a row and *might* be on track to pass the one in 2008

Tampering with the OPM is a very bad idea. This is a professional, non-political agency that manages peoples' careers and retirements. There is no legitimate reason for Musk hacks and operatives to go in there and play havoc. This is the crudest form of Musk disruption.

The data referred to that civil service managers had access to was for the purposes of personnel management. Any Musk operative claims of inappropriate use of data are just red herrings. Denying these managers access to federal personnel records is going to hamper their work badly. That's the name of the agency, Office of Personnel Management. I'd be a lot more worried that Musk disruptors may have access to this data.

But wait until you have to go down to the Social Security office and they tell you to come back for an appointment nine months off into the future. Or strip a few more air traffic controllers out of the work force. Or fire forest managers and workers and watch the blue tarps multiply. I could go on, but to run a country, you need employees.

I think having blind faith in someone having access to a system that handles $6 Trillion a year and LOTS of sensitive information and they aren't even telling us taxpayers WHY they are in there is far more "absurd". I have no issue at all with actual 'administrative access to databases", I just don't remember Elon being elected, appointed or even really 'hired' to an administrative position in conformance with laws regarding being elected, appointed or hired

Really? The last 6 years actually happened. Trump is doing what he can the right some of the massive waste that has occurred for generations. Not many people are built for that task, so he appointed someone to at least steer/guide a team in direction.

To say we know what the outcome will be at this time after all the garbage we rightly complain about...? Come on. This one of the most difficult task anyone has attempted. I have several family members that work in government. I don't want to see them financially hurt, but there has to be a start.
