Iv been thinking of painting my AR but came across Cordura wraps. Basically its a fabric sticker sheet, im not promoting but Rangerwrap was the place i found em if you are curious.

It is seems like a good idea on paper but Im wondering if it would retain water in the rain. Anyone ever tried this stuff?

I haven't tried it but yes cordura nylon will retain water in the rain. And have fun getting the adhesive off when eventually you decide to remove it.

Looks like adhesive backed ace bandage. It would get annoying edge peel, get all sloppy, et cetera.

I would explore other options. Like paint, cerakote, whatever. Just not that.

Coat of Arms gun shop in Keizer does wraps. I had a .22 barrel dipped with a carbon fiber wrap and it came out great. They have a ton of different designs. I get the impression that they have a guy come in and do them when they have a customer that wants it. That way they can keep the firearm for gunsmithing work since the guy that actually does it doesn't have an FFL.
