What most people don't get in the gun world is, the less you pay, the more YOU have to be the quality control expert. You could get a good one, you could get a dud. How many are you willing to send back and how many will they take back? Then there's the stuff that happens 1 year or two down the road where you can't send it back anymore or maybe because you bought it second hand.
The internet helps us learn from other people's mistakes. I have a couple of Olights I bought on black Friday deals several years ago. They work alright but they wouldn't go on anything more than a nightstand gun. Even then I check it constantly to make sure it comes on. I'm hearing something now about them exploding which I never heard about before. Will do some research but that's just unacceptable to me. Even if "only on rare occasion"
