A weekend away? Where do you go? Good resorts and B&Bs

Hey Everyone,

On a lighter note than all the negative banter, I'm looking for a good place to book a vacation either my wofe and younger kids.
Not really into big crowds, like Great Wolf lodges and such.
We like the outdoors, the coast, etc.
I was leaning towards the Sun Mountain lodge in Bend.

Any ways I wanted some more ideas.

We like to go here during the winter months. Beautiful views of the river and close o the town of Stevenson. Nice cabins, dog friendly, hot tubs, whirlpools.

Younger kids, Sunriver is a good choice that will keep everybody happy. Brasada Ranch is another good place to, as is Eagle Crest.

I've been to Bavaria so that spoiled me.

I would second the Bend area.
Great time of the year to go to the East Side.

Have you been to the San Juan Islands? Orcas is amazing...but I may be biased. But there's tons to do and you absolutely can't beat the scenery.

Oh, and if you haven't checked out the Olympic Peninsula and the coast it should definitely be on your list.
