I like the short range, suppressed big game potential of 8.6. Some of those copper expander projectiles perform like magnums at a subsonic speed. Whatever game you hit with that would likely be a quick and ethical harvest and really, it does have a decent effective range with that 1/3 barrel twist stabilizing. Its just an interesting cartridge!

I love the 8.6 subs. I shot one and decided, definitely for me. Grabbed a Q Fix with matched suppressor, then developed a subsonic load for it. You'll soon want full speed loads, and then...be careful with the projectiles, they tend to fly apart from centrifugal force.


Because this is our commercial load, I'm can't share our load data, We spent a lot of time and money finding a powder that delivered the consistency we wanted. BUt you are onto a fun round with some great energy.
