180 grain is a bit heavy for my sub compact.

Curious what subcompact 40 are you carrying? Since you are saying these are a bit heavy; are you referring to the overall weight of the gun with a loaded magazine? Or might you be saying they are bit much to be shooting from your subcompact?
 
It's 3.6" kahr S&W.
The gun can handle it just fine. It's just an abrasive grip. Kind of tears up your hands if you shoot too much.
Plus I really don't shoot this gun often. And still have 5-600 rounds of lighter led.
