The indoor range I used to go to wouldn't let you shoot rifles at all, unless they were handgun caliber. Apparently it ruins the back stops.
Yah, same with our indoor club. Upside is it's open 24/7, except for maintenance & events. Pretty darned convenient. For long gun events & classes, they have an agreement with the county outdoor range for reserved ranges.

Our outdoor club doesn't allow .50bmg & perhaps .338 lapua mag. However has rifle out to 340yards daily & 600yards twice a month. Plus plenty of pistol bays & an action/motion bay + a LEO only area. Downside to that club is only open to sunset & closed many holidays.

One range I belong to allows up to and including .338 Lapua, another has no restrictions whatsoever with the caveat of no tracers/steel core. I shoot my .50 with some regularity at that one. There are no laws in Oregon at the state level against .50 rifles or ammunition ownership, purchase or use at this time
