3006 sighting in

Bought a used, well maintained Husky. Sighting in was a bear. great at 50 yards but not on the paper at 100. Good scope. What is wrong?

It's probably your rings. Start there, then the scope, then the bedding.

Check to see if the barrel is straight. Sounds silly, but I looked at bolt gun once I was considering to purchase. I took out the bolt to sight down the barrel, I could see light but it was obscured. I assumed it was a spider web so I ran a patch through it. Again still distorted. I realized after sighting down the outside of the barrel that it was bent to the right! Just enough not to be able to see through. It might have hit the target at 50, but be so far off that it would miss at 100.
