No worries - I have a 110 in 30-06 from 1962 and it is a great rifle. Apparently Savage had some quality issues in the 80's but their stuff in the decades before/after is pretty solid.

I'd guess pre 1960, just based on how long it's been around in my family.
I know my dad had it prior to me being born and I was born in 77.

After looking at these pictures several times I am pretty sure about the following:
1. This is a 99R, has a 24" barrel, wide beavertail forearm it is the heaviest of the Savage 99 family, it was factory drilled for a scope.
2. Definitely built prior to 1960
3. Everything about the gun appears correct except the sling swivels and recoil pad. Might want to measure the LOP to see if the stock has been cut.
4. These models tend to be very accurate
