Used a dremel and little grinding stone. Changed orientation to create "facets". Has a sparkle effect when moving it due to the facet thingys. Countersunk around the firing button. For some reason this one doesn't come countersunk like the boker kalashnikovs do. Just an experiment. I like it better than original flat brass though.

I think it looks much better than stock! :s0155:
Thx! I also noticed on YouTube this video where lady did neat texture on brass using emery stick. I might try something similar with sandpaper on another knife. Wonder if it would work on steel also?

Good reason to keep beater knives around ha ha, you can experiment with acid dip finishes on blade or textures on scales etc. and if it looks bad then no big loss. I have a bunch of leftover muriatic acid from cleaning bricks I wonder if that is strong enough to etch steel if you left it long enough? I have a shotgun barrel leftover piece that has been soaking in vinegar for 6 months just as a test. I'm afraid to look at it maybe there is nothing left! :p

Here is a pic of her textured finish. I like it:

Also this guy put out a great how to video for this method on brass knife scales which I think looks amazing.
