Now THERE ya go! Silencers are not worth a Grand. Well, some may be worth that due to the exotic materials they are made of, but everyone knows they are way overpriced.
In my experience Lyman always offers a good product. I'll be taking a look at some of these.

I think we reached the practical limits of what can be done with subtractive machining years ago and what we have been paying for is branding and warrantee reputation. Going back about 10 or 15 years you can track how the Form 1 world broke away from the 'tried and true' suppressor designs and really ended up doing a ton of free R&D for commercial manufactures. Between the (at least for now) zero dollar stamp and the massive price drop and availability in 3d printing technology the days of high priced machined cones / baffles builds is limited.

A .22 and a 5.56 are not the same thing. Many of the Lyman models are supposedly for center-fire cartridges

Is it still possible to have an oil filter adapter be the serialized suppressor?

I *think* they both need to be serialized and that you need to send them to a SOT to have the oil filter replaced should that ever be needed
AFAIK the ATF treats the oil filter as a baffle and not a user replaceable part, or just file a new free form 1

The one I was looking at (REKKR DT) isn't FA rated, but has aluminum and stainless steel construction. They don't show pricing, but I'll bet it's not one of the cheaper versions. I don't have any knowledge or preference so I am much more likely to buy a cheaper one to start with. It's the gateway drug.

Keep in mind you'll also be paying a fee to the distributor. Silencerco kiosk is at $75.00. Most stores (FFL distributors) are including that in the price. When you see them on sale at the online vendor web sites, that price doesn't include the fee to ship the suppressor to a distributor and the Form 4 and 4473 processing fees.

I just found this out when I bought one from PA and had it shipped to a local distributor. You will still need to get your own ATF account.
