I have probably had this rifle for 30 years. I'm going to break my personal rule of never selling a gun and let this go. I just find myself shooting other rifles and calibers and it sits in the back of the safe. The SN is 78,XXX for anyone who cares to look it up.
Overall very nice condition. Although it has seen many miles in the trucks and woods, I have taken good care of it. The stock has one small chip on the right grip as shown. There are no other big dings, no scratches etc. The varnish does have a number of pressure Mark's in the finish. They were hard to capture in the photos. There is a slight wear point in the finish on the top of the barrel from riding in the gun rack back in the day.
These rifles have an incredibly smooth action and excellent trigger. This one has a clean break at 2.5 lbs. The hammer forged barrels have a long life and this one is still in excellent condition. Sims butt pad installed and a nice padded leather sling. The scope is a L&S VXII 3-9 x 50 with L&S mounts (I wont separate) I have the original Sako mounts, sights and butt pad. It is an honest 1 MOA rifle with the right factory load and I am sure would do better with a custom load.
Trades considered are nice original WWII era M1 Carbine, German non-capture K98K, Swiss K31 (really looking for matching bayo # too), Swede M38. Maybe something else interesting. Cash either way depending on trade value. I dont need any more ARs.
It wont hurt my feelings to keep it, so please refrain from low ball offers. I can meet in the Sandy to Gresham area. I have some FFLs or can go to yours.

  1. I agree to the classified rules and terms of service
I dont have a need for more shotguns. Possible trades would be some select WW2 era guns - 1911 .45, M1 carbine std or para, swiss K31, Enfield no 4, Finnish Lahti pistol, Suomi or valmet 76. Only looking for original examples

Price reduced. Hunting season is coming up and this thing is a proven killer. I even loaned it to a friend (years ago) and it was used to take a bighorn sheep but I won't charge extra for that.

I have since purchased most of the WWII rifles listed above but am still after a nice Swiss K31 or Enfield No. 4 Mk1. Hit me up if you have something interesting.

Can't believe this is still here. These are incredible rifles. I've got 2 sakos in left hand action, AV classic in 7mm mag and L61 in.308, and they are getting passed down to my kids. I'd never sell my sakos. GLWS.

I got the old sako deluxe. Got 5 . I hunt with the 7mm mag it look used. The my 270 100% .I used it one time and I got two scratches in it I got mad at that So what back in to the gun case.So it's not good having pretty rifles
