1911 slide front dovetail

Simple question for any gunsmiths/machinists.

Is there enough 'meat' on the front of my stock, Colt 1991 A1 slide to have it cut for a standard 3/8" dovetail?

Reason is I want to put new sights on it and do NOT want to mess with the typical 'swaged' front sight.

Yes! You'll want to do a refinish though to make it look better.
