For anyone running a business, $65 is about 30 minutes of work. Seems real reasonable to me, especially if any fitting was involved.

I usually charge $80, it's quite critical that the pistol is fully inspected and test fired after the safety is installed. One stroke with a hone or file to much, and the safety will work but it will also fail the safety check. I've seen this before. Literally one stroke to much and you remove .005 of material and it will work, but also fail. So please make sure your firearm is functioning properly after you get it back.
I usually run about half a box test firing after any safety mods. Just to make sure all is well. Then clean it afterwards.

And Velzey not only does top notch work, his prices are more than reasonable for what he delivers.

If you can make it to his shop, he's the guy you want working on your 1911.
