What is the easiest way to lighten trigger pull for 10/22?

1) remove sections of spring a little at a time?

2) Polish sear/ hammer surfaces? I don't really want to remove material much, just polish.

3) something else?

Also I saw this tandemkross kit which says lightens trigger. But cost is $125ish and I really don't want to spend that much. Certainly do. It want any of the expensive triggers out there.

This is for my hammerli b1 which uses 10/22 trigger. Thx for any help. I don't knwo
Much about these triggers.

Rugers bx trigger is pretty nice. $50-$75 I think.
Other than that, polishing engagement surfaces is the way
Good info thx. Do u happen to know the weight of that trigger (just roughly) or if it can be adjusted for weight of pull? That Tandemkross kit they claim around 2 lb I think for what it's worth (no experience with it).

Ruger BX trigger $65 at Midway currently. Ties into a "free shipping" deal @ $100. If you have other things in the "free ship" deal to add to cart...

Edit: I usually keep a running list of things I want thru Midway, because they have these types of "free ship" deals so frequently. Anything on said list not ordered during a year usually gets wiped annually at my birthday pricing deal...

Run the Ruger aluminum trigger housing and group. Have a gun smith properly jig and stone your hammer and trigger. Or buy a drop in kit from KIDD or Volquartsen. Stay away from the BX polymer junk. If you are'nt going to be on a bench 100% of the time 3.75 lbs is a safe spot and huge imporovment from the factory setting. This is my 1967 bone (exception, bolt lock back, and mag release) stock, walnut finger groove furniture, duplicate serial number 10-22. Instead of doing the usual aftermarket drop-in that I normally do I opted for a legit gunsmith trigger job.

The BX triggers are pretty nice, for what they are & intended for. Not competition, just fun sport target shooting/plinking & the like. At a reasonable price & just drop in.

I would imagine such would be perfect for a Hammerli B1, especially given that rifle would LIKELY never be suitable for competition. Just fun sport target/plinking & the like...

They are fun till your hammer and trigger pin holes in the reciever start to get augered out and you get that sloppy side to side play. The aluminum is guilty of this wear and tear too but it holds up a ton longer than the polymer. https://clarkcustomguns.com/product/trigger-housing/

I've had good luck with polishing & a basic spring kit. I Also reccomend checking out rimfire central forums for a bunch of DIY tips on the 10/22 trigger system

Yes, there are plenty of parts kits available at various prices. I've gone with that particular kit as it didn't break the bank. After all, the rifle itself (back in the day, w/metal trigger group) cost me about $150.

Why not replace the trigger and sear?

Well......"Up to you."

Aloha, Mark

I buy the kidd trigger kits and they work great, I have done a bunch of 10/22 triggers over the years and even have a jig for hammer and sear engagement work. I like the polymer housings better than the pot metal ones not as much slop in the pin holes and location.

I like the bx trigger, the only one I have came in my carbon fiber 10/22 and I think it's awesome. I've shot it a lot out to 300 meters and it's a ton of fun. It sounds like a stapler with the erector. Anyway for the money I wanna get a few more and put them in all my 10/22s

Bear in mind the polymer housing and trigger group was not an improvement on the tried and true metal group it was a Ruger cost cutting measure.

i understand that, but there also is a noticeable difference between whatever they do to their bx triggers and what comes in their bottom dollar rifles today. I got both, and an old aluminum trigger, granted non are tuned, mine all kinda suck but for $65 it's pretty nice easy upgrade.

I ended up ordering the Mcarbo spring kit for $12.95 (Labor Day code isn't working for some reason). They claim it reduces weight by half. We'll see how it goes. I put their spring kit in my Stribog .22 and weight is at 1lb 14 oz average.
