I've had done transfers, selling, buying, repairs, rebuilds, resto work, complete rebuilds, you name, he can do it all.
I wouldn't consider taking anything, anywhere else, it will always be done right, even 20rnd Beretta mags
Tim fitted a grip frame for a Ruger Blackhawk last summer, noticed I hadn’t given a review for the work. It started as a raw stainless casting and ended up as a polished Bisley frame. I’d use him again for anything firearms related.
Tim has done a few projects for me and the result is always the same. Amazing. End of story. From complete refinish to custom machining, Tim is hands down the best! Your search for THE gunsmith stops here.
I hand delivered an extremely sentimental firearm that needed rebluing. I hoped that he could get it looking half way decent again. Tim went above and beyond what I expected, and did so under what I would consider extraordinary circumstances. The quality of his work is excellent and the pricing is more than fair. To say that I am grateful and pleased with his work is an understatement. I do not trust many people to work on my firearms. I will be a repeat customer.
Highest quality craftsmanship rebuilding a vintage 1911 Colt Gold Cup
Tim Copeland rebuilt and refreshed an old Colt 1911 Gold Cup for me that needed all new springs, new extractor & replaced a loose ejector. Found some minor tune up issues during the process. My 45 runs like new even though a 50 year old 1911 with plenty of rounds fired.
Really great communicating with me during the evaluation, test and build processes, and reasonably priced too!
Take your 1911 to Copeland Custom Gunworks. Tim is “the“ 1911 guy in the greater Portland area!
I bought a revolver that wasn't indexing properly. Tim went through the pistol, replaced the springs and smoothed things up a bit and it now indexes clean. The action is not sloppy like it was before and i paid less than i expected. I highly recommend Tim.
Conscientious, thorough, knowledgeable, and highly skilled.
Tim recently re-blued two of my vintage rifles and parkerized a third. The quality of his work 100% exceeded my expectations. Tim treated my guns with great care as if they were his own. He is a good listener and offers thoughtful and intelligent input. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Copeland Custom Gunworks. They are a real treasure to the shooting community. Worth the drive and worth every penny.
I needed my colt 6940 rebarreled and the old gasblock drilled and pinned onto a new barrel. If you’re not familiar with the 6940, the parts are all non standard. I could not find a smith local that would take it on. Tim did a fantastic job. Looks factory. I highly recommend him!
I recently had Tim cut down, thread, and crown a CMMG radial delayed blowback 9mm AR barrel.
It started out as a 16in barrel and I had him cut it down to 5.25in. Then I had him pin and weld the supplied Taccom barrel extension to the newly minted 5.25in barrel to get me back to the 16in legal limit.
I currently have a lightweight Taccom barrel with 5.25in barrel with extension (basically an aluminum shroud pin and welded to make 16in). I wanted to have something similar with the CMMG barrel and bolt kit that I recently picked up. This will mainly be used for local speed steel matches. Mission accomplished! Thanks Tim!
Tim did some awesome work for me recently. I dropped off my Remington 700 to be cut, threaded and a muzzle brake pin and welded. The muzzle brake is a QD for a can as well. He did such an amazing job! No tooling marks or any “wonky” anything. Plus the rifle is at the minimum legal length and just looks cool too. Once the can is on, this thing is going to be my go to for deer hunting. He got the work done in a week and is very reasonably priced. He is extremely responsive to email, text and phone calls. I would not hesitate to get any Gunsmithing work done by Copeland again.
My Yugo M48 was in dire need of a face lift after removing the sights a few years ago, so I contacted Tim to have it Cerakoted. He was very good about explaining the whole process and helped me make up my mind on the finish. He was able to get it done in a very reasonable amount of time and I could not be happier. I will definitely go back to him for more Cerakoting, plus I am going to have him install longer bolt handles on this rifle plus a GEW98 I did awhile back.
I had a second gunsmithing job completed by Mr. Copeland. As with the first, he did amazingly good work, communication was solid, and the rates were good to the point of being surprising. Moving forward I have no doubt I'll send any gunsmith work his way. To those looking for someone to work on their firearms, this is the fellow to do business with.
