A Cut Above Pawn

I've used this shop for many years, never had an issue. Great prices, everyone I've met working there has been top-notch, and I do like looking at all the gear!

I use a Cut Above for Everything firearm related. I'm in there for something at least weekly. The team is great and the prices are great. You should check them out if you haven't already.

My preferred place for transfers. The staff has always been very friendly. Even with the background checks sometimes taking forever, they are helpful and quick to call when you clear. Have done multiple transfers there, browsed quite a bit, never felt pressured to buy and have always felt welcome.

Having and FFL is proof that you have been through extensive back ground checks
Not one other FFL has required a copy of my drivers license they simply looked at the address on my license
when I sell or buy a firearm from and outlet I don't display my drivers license for you to make a copy is B.S.

I have never been treated so Disrespectful by a fellow FFL as I was in your shop.

This is my go to FFL because of location and cost. I work near by and sometimes drive over to browse during my break from work... back when I was at the office, that is.

I've ordered multiple stripped lowers and the cost is $25 for the first and $15 for each additional transfer item. This does not fluctuate and has not changed since they came to this.

If you're in there frequent enough, you find that they remember you. Thing is, even if it's your first time in the store, they treat you the same way as if you've been a long time customer. They set the bar for customer service.

I've done two transfers there in the last month. They're pros. The store is well organized and they have a nice selection of rifles and pistols as well as knives and tools.

This is where I go for all of my transfers. The price is great, $25 for the first firearm and $15 for each additional. The staff is always friendly and if you've been in enough, they remember you.

Did two transfers this weekend, one as a seller, one as a buyer. This has got to be the friendliest pawnshop I've ever done business in! The staff were nice, and seemed very knowledgeable and effective at what they do. There are also interesting guns, swords, flintlocks, music equipment, and tools for sale and on display. The building is clean and bright, and the fees were reasonable. Definitely recommended!

Had my pistol delivered here and it was a great experience! Worked with John. All the guys there were really friendly. Great place to do business! Fee for the transfer and the BCG was $25 bucks. I'll be using them again and recommending them to others. Highly recommend!!

I have been going in this shop for years, even back to the days before they moved to the current location. Always great help and some often interesting items for sale. Great for firearm transfers. I have always had good customer service experiences here.

I have had this shop refuse to take possession of a weapon during a transfer from the seller until after the transfer was done. They didn't want to put it on their books. Although legal according to the ATF, not what I expected since every other transfer I have ever done, the ffl doing the transfer, took possession of the weapon until transfer a was complete. I didn't appreciate having to go back to the shop, waiting for the seller to arrive with the weapon, after the state transfer was completed, to pick up the weapon.

I still like the shop and have always had good customer service, but will not be doing any more transfers there.

Just an update 3-2025: Doing a deal with a member that normally uses the shop for private party transfers. Called them prior due to the previous issue of them not taking firearms into possession during private party transfers. I called and they still have this policy in place. The reason I was given was lack of storage space. I'm not OK with having a firearm transfer done into my name, while it is still in possession by the seller.

I've purchased from and have had multiple firearms transferred through A Cut Above Pawn, they have always provided quality, friendly service at a good price. I've tried a couple other FFLs for transfer and I always return to A Cut Above Pawn. I will transfer everything through them as long as I can.

Super Cheap! Only $25 for the transfer and includes background check. Make sure you contact them via phone instead of E-Mail though.

John, Tom, Tyler, and Steve and the entire crew rock. Quick, friendly and they love nice guns too. Worth using even if you're east side.

Gave them a 5 rating for my experience in gun transfers. They are prompt in sending a copy of their FFL for mailing the gun and call promptly when receiving it. $25.00 for the transfer fee is quite reasonalble. They will do a two gun transfer for $40.00, I believe.

It's a Pawn Shop. So, besides the used guns......there are other things that you might be interested in. Yup.....I've bought used tools and I've done transfers there. Course, since I'm a WA resident......handguns would have to be done at a WA FFL.

Anyway, they've always been friendly and willing to show me stuff.

I utilize A Cut Above Pawn for firearm sale transfers. They are fairly easy to get to from most areas around Portland. They charge $15 for the transfer and the usual $10 for the background check. The staff is set up to take care of you quick and professionally. They know guns too, and will gladly hold a good conversion about some of the things they have seen come through the store.

Expect nothing but a positive experience at this place.
