I think it's a crapshoot but I prefer the looks of most Kimbers. I have never had a Kimber that had problems.

My uncle has a Kimber that had to go back for warranty work a few times. That was a snubby Kimber though, and about 15 years ago. From what I understand, snubby 1911's in general are more trouble prone than full sizes. That's the extent of my experience with it though, my 1911 is a full size S&W and it's never had an issue.

If they would dump the "rapide" line and trim the model options in general, my opinion of them might improve. Man alive some of those guns are ugly.
