New sights on Colt Defender Installed by RK Gunsmithing
Since my wife is from the area, we make it over to the Boise and Nampa area quite often. Having said that I have most of the major "gun caves" (gun shops, gunsmiths and the like) as my regular haunts when we are in the area.
A week or so ago, at the wife's insistence I picked up a set of Meprolight night sights for the Colt Defender. Obviously, they needed installation. Last Friday (December 20) we stopped in to RK Gunsmithing with the gun and sights in hand. I asked Robert (the owner) who was behind the counter, how much to install? He said he'd be happy to install them for free while I waited. "Cool!!!", or so I thought.
Draw your own conclusions.
Disappointed does not properly convey how I feel. I expected much more from a professional gunsmith. He beat the hell out of my gun, but I guess I got my money's worth. Or am I making more of this than it should be?
Thankfully the tritium inserts still shine as they should though.
