What does is people who own guns who are just almost as bad off as he is.
Yep - a member on another forum made a good statement:
There are 'gun' people and people than own guns - and they are not necessarily doing us any good - and may actually outnumber 'gun' people.

The smart Canadians all lost their guns when the last Conservative government did away with the registry.

Shortly after I left Canada (~20 years ago), my dad gave me all his old guns. I properly imported them to the US through mountains of ATF paperwork. Before I took them out of Canada I called the "Chief Firearms Officer" (or something like that) of the province and told him I was taking all these guns to the US and wanted to know if there was anything they wanted me to do to prove they were leaving. He said there was nothing to do.

About 2-3 years ago the RCMP show up on my Dad's doorstep asking about his old guns (they had a list). After I called the RCMP and told them the above they asked me to write them a letter stating that I had exported them all legally. They left my dad alone after that.

Regardless, the lesson here is that even when there isn't a "registry" there still is. The government will stomp on our rights at every chance they are given and waste no time throwing law abiding citizens under the bus to promote their political agendas.

How bad could jail in Canada be anyway?
I have a friend that works in a medium security prison in Canada. It seems that it can be as bad as most prisons in the US. Different "gangs" (Hells Angels, non-hell's angels, Russian gangs, East Indian gangs, Chinese gangs, etc.) but the same basic bottom feeding scum of the world.

He has to wear full tactical gear to escort prisoners anytime they have to leave the prison.

The real question to me- how many will turn in their rifles?
The dumb law-abiding ones. In most cases, the people that love their guns have seen this coming for ages. Many of them will not comply but it will be harder for them to enjoy their toys now.

Unfortunately, Canadians in general are very complacent and don't have the history of "fighting back" that the Americans do.

2 years granted in to current owners. 2 years to dispose of their AW's. Again without detail how do you dispose of firearms in Canada? Can you sell them over the border ? I don't think so. Can you sell them within Canada? Can you still continue to use in the next 2 years or is that a symbolic you can hold onto them for 2 years to say goodbye with no using them ?

I don't know how a country can move so fast to ban something - Do they not have courts this has to go thru, citizens voting and such?

Two years is about the expected lifespan of the current Trudeau government. They want to do as much damage as they can before they (hopefully) lose to some marginally better group of idiot politicians.

Hello my Canadian friends. I'm trying so hard to love you but then you go and elect Trudeau. Just to be fair, we elected Obama but at least we had the gumption to replace him with Trump. Please learn from our experience. We know that you have a Trump somewhere up there in the Great White North. Please find him and elect him. Then call us, we'll do lunch. We'll buy too because you know..exchange rate.

Canadians dont have it all wrong. They atleast got the immigration thing right.

Illegals dont get id cards.
No welfare programs for illegals.
No drivers license for illegals.
No free school at any age for illegals.

No wonder they can afford more of the social programs and have better school systems.

Oh, make no mistake... they're racking up IMMENSE national debt, too. o_O

I think Trudeau did us a favor here, he and Beto.

Gun grabbers?! Us?! No... We just want some reasonable restrictions, register the scary ones and we'll be good. You know, so we'll know who has them, to, uh, make sure bad guys, I mean, bad people, don't have them. We'll never arbitrarily come after them when the timing suits us because of a convenient tragedy that has absolutely nothing to do with legally owned guns. Who, us? Never! We promise...

Beto admitted it, and Trudeau proved it. They've been lying to us all along.

Yes, I know that Trudeau is in Canada, and doesn't have to worry about that pesky little Second Amendment, but I don't think that's as much of a deterrent as some of us hope, if the right (wrong) people are in power.

It's their country and they don't have a second amendment so.... if people there really disagree they can vote Trudeau out and undo this.

These kind of comments are rarely helpful. The Constitution was put in place to protect against the tyranny of the majority in certain aspects of life. I know this comment was made in regards to Canada which isn't under purview if the US Constitution, but saying that Canadians should vote out Trudeau to fix all of this suggests that whatever 51% of a population wants must be obeyed. Tyranny of the majority.

Hopefully this blithering idiot, water box moron gets his black face wearing bubblegum run out on a rail. Good luck, eh.

Keep your di ck in a vice.

I have a friend who lives in Canada. She lives in rural Ontario on a river whose name escapes me now! I believe that it is several hours away from Toronto if my memory serves me right.

She and I do discuss ALL subject matters including politics.

Canada does do some things that we should be doing here but we do not! Posted above by another poster.

She is several years older than I am and I will be 70 years old this summer. So we both have a CLUE when it comes to politics.

She still owns a simple shotgun from what I gather. She is INTO knives and other tools the way that I am here in the US of A.

Alternately, many of us would be happy to send our Trump to Canada, postage paid.
