Back to the topic though, I'm hooked again too. I used to shoot a lot of 3 gun back in '16 & '17. I'd only shot a couple of USPSA matches in that time. I just shot my 3rd USPSA match in a row last weekend and now I'm hooked again.

I'll shoot GP again when I can. You ever planning on shooting Medford? It's quite a bit different. The stages are usually quite a bit bigger due to the larger bays.
Medford is a bit out of my range, but if I get a chance to be in the area during a match, I definitely take advantage.

Be aware that there are some ranges/gun clubs that do not allow "muzzle high" with your gun. While perfectly legal per USPSA and will not result in a DQ, said ranges/clubs can. Tri County Gun Club in Sherwood, OR will.

Doesn't sound like it's a issue with where you shoot now, but could become one if you get to the point were start to venture out to matches your general area.

If you do shoot at a place like that, you'll have to make adjustments and plan accordingly…..
Good info! Thank you!

Finally Classified – Match 6 Video is Up!

Hey everyone,

It's been a busy summer with moving, family stuff, and getting life sorted, but I finally made it back to the range for Match 6 at the Izaak Walton League in Eugene, OR. This one was a big milestone for me because it included the last classifier I needed to officially earn my USPSA classification. Ended up right where I expected, starting off as a C-class shooter. I'm excited to keep grinding and improving.

In the video, I cover 4 stages including:
  • 25-07 Absolute Cinema
  • Look But Don't Touch
  • 25-08 We Lost Hero or Zero
  • 25-09 Descent Into Madness
Still a bit rusty from not getting enough range time, but the lessons learned from this match are going straight into my training plan.

Check out the full video here!

As always, I appreciate the support from this community.
Big thanks to Mag-Mo for the Edge grip (if anyone's interested, you can reach him at [email protected]).
I'm still running my Rival SFX with some small tweaks and saving up for a Freedomsmith trigger to step things up.

Would love to hear feedback, tips, or just general thoughts. Thanks for following along on my journey to climb the USPSA ranks!

I'll add that shooting fast is only half of the equation. Moving fast is equally important. Along with your shooting drills, I'd look into training and/or activities that incorporate improving your core strength as well as agility and balance…….

Thanks for the solid advice, spookshack

I couldn't agree more. Shooting is one thing, but moving efficiently between positions really separates the good from the great. I actually put together a training session recently where I focused on adding more movement into my drills. Here's a clip: Range Training

That said, I've been dealing with a recent back injury and it definitely affected my agility during my last match. Made transitions and movement between shooting positions a lot tougher than usual. It's something I'm working through carefully.
