Went to my LGS to transfer an AR15 to my son. There was no BGC or any other paperwork required. I just handed it over. I gave my son in North Carolina a gun and there was a BGC there.

In state transfers to direct blood relatives do not require bgc. Even in Oregon. Across state lines always requires bgc, per feds

They filled you in after they stopped laughing, didn't they?

There is a list of eligible family members that don't need transfers.
They can have all the fun they want at my expense as long as I don't have to pay for a BGC.
