So, a strange confluence of studying old books, plus shooting revolvers in garden at odd hours has got me to thinking about those beautifully crafted 19th century target muzzleloaders I've seen referenced. There is a contemporary replica that looks quite joyful too.

Anyway, I thought I'd toss it out there for discussion:

  • Any literature you'd recommend for a study of such arms?
  • Any arms in this genre you like in particular?
  • What modern replicas do you find neato and why?
Thanks for sharing. :)

HHmmmm....
A Ouija board....and ask Hamilton and Burr....? :D

While I can appreciate the work that went into the making of these types of pistols....
They have never been my cup of tea so to speak.

That said...
I have shot :
The Pedersoli Models ...Le Page and Mortimer pistols...both in flint.
Excellent pistols...fun to shoot and accurate as well.
