Savage 110 Timberline Bolt inspection

Just purchased rifle, I noticed bolt have some wear? from factory and look dirty.

I know it's not a high end rifle, but not sure if this is normal looking.

Usually factory's test for their stuff. That looks a little excessively test fired. Was this new? Almost looks used.

yes new, rifle itself was clean with barely no wear.

I just want to know if metal surface is normal, look like pitted.

Eh. I wouldn't worry. I have 5 savage rifles and all their bolts look scuffed to one degree or another. Heck, one my my stainless rifles had powder residue and finger prints all over the barrel when it arrived at the LGS. They just seem to ship em dirty...

Admittedly though, your bolt does look a more scuffed than I think it should brand new, even so I wouldn't worry about it unless it's so bad you can hang up a finger nail when you pick at it

How does it shoot? That's the only metric that matters.
