Remington 41-P Targetmaster. I purchased this in the 1990's and no nothing about any of the prior owners. I haven't shot it for at least the last 20 years.

Shoots .22 short, long or long rifle. Excellent walnut stock. Original peep sight. Original blueing fading to brown. 27" barrel. Serial no. 202XX. Date stamp AE (March, 1936). Hold onto it for another 14 years and you'll have a 100-year old rifle!

Rifling is fine. The bolt moves easily and locks up tight. The trigger is very basic compared to a modern gun. The bolt assembly would benefit from a disassembly and cleaning -- I haven't because the peep sight needs to be removed to pull the bolt. I'd rather let the new owner do that.

I'm pretty sure that's the Remington model that my grandpa gave me when I was seven in 1950. I killed hundreds of animals with it and regret it today.
