Which type of holster? That would make a huge difference in the answer. They are features I prefer in AIWB that aren't required on a overt OWB and vice versa. Even when it comes to basic things like proper retention.

I just posted these pics in another thread. Galco Summer Comfort IWB and High Noon Belt Slider. One for concealed, the other, not so much. I like thumb break holsters if a retention system is desired, but the IWB holster has a pretty good grip on the gun, too.
I like the same OWB style of holster for my revolvers, too.

Ya know, Andy, that's a nice gun.

edit cuz I'm slow. I meant the Colt, but that H&R is pretty darn shiny, too.

Thanks fellas...I grew up with those guns...the Colt was my dad's....first handgun I ever shot.
The H&R was a birthday gift from my dad when I turned 13...lots of memories with both of them.

The pistol belt...flap holster and magazine pouch...followed me home from the Army.

Very disciplined 13 year old to keep that in such good shape!
Yeah. I've had this one on my possession since about the same age. I might be a little older than Andy, but I don't think he's too far behind me.
This one was my Grandpa's. I added the Ruger wood grips, but have the originals safely tucked away.
Since this is a tread about holsters I will add that I carry this gun in a standard Hunter Belt holster, which hangs from the belt. Because this gun is light, it's ok, but heavier guns tend to flop around with holsters like that.

edit: the wear on this gun's bluing is from that same holster! Dammit.
