Several days ago, I ordered some stuff from Midway online. I got the usual heads-up email from Midway that it had shipped, also the follow-up from UPS. Yesterday, I got an email from UPS informing me that the package had been sent back to Midway from Lenexa, Kansas. Reason: Service Disruption Occurred. Now the UPS information on it says:

Exception Reason:
The package has been damaged and the sender will be notified. The undamaged portion has been returned to the sender.​
Exception Resolution:
Damaged merchandise discarded, remaining contents returned to the sender. UPS will notify the sender with the details.​

Part of the order was for a gallon jug of Iosso liquid case cleaner. I'm guessing that the Iosso container ruptured. Which is mostly a solution of phosphoric acid. I wonder how many other packages got ruined. It will be interesting to see how this comes out.

Midway often doesn't do the best packing jobs, I've noticed. Usually lots of empty space in the box, often only a single course of tape on the box flaps. Something like a gallon of phosphoric acid needs some attention to packing. I've ordered this product from them before; as I recall, it was in a box within a box. Phosphoric acid is a hazardous material, subject to certain packing and handling requirements. I wonder if the guys in the Midway shipping dept. are following those.

The good news is, Midway should be great about replacing your order.

I had UPS deliver one of my packages to the wrong address. I talked to Midway CS and they said if UPS couldn't or wouldn't retrieve the package, they would resend a new batch of items. UPS did find, retrieve and deliver the package but it was nice to know Midway had my back if they didn't.
 
The best customer service I think I have ever had was from Summit racing. I bought a $1100.00 Eaton E Locker for my 1948 Willys jeep project and it showed up with a little tab busted off. I could have had the local welding genius (he's really really good) weld it back on for maybe $20. I called UPS and they told me to have it on the front porch for pickup by 3pm the next day. I kid you not the UPS truck showed up at 4pm and left another unit in perfect condition and took the damaged one. NOW they do have a Reno store but thats some FAST customer service.
 
Liquids are always tough, many have easily loosened caps. Thankfully, more and more companies have started using an inner seal under the cap, gives them an 89 % better chance of arriving sealed.
We got a shipment of honey that was a real mess! Another depressing receipt was a loose capped 2# jar of lanolin mixed with other things in the box.
The best companies in the world, to me, aren't worth zip without a cheap and easy return policy.
 
i ordered a 1000 rds of CCI Mini mags a few years back , got home from work and i see a bullet in the drive way , then another and so on and so on all the way to the porch , i Hansel and Grettle'd right to the package that look like it had been thrown from a bridge , stomped burried , dug up , kicked up a flight of steps with a gouge through the side , when i did the final count there was over 100 rds missing , vendor says it was UPS , UPS says there was no insurance , mi fought for a month and finally had to eat it because it was giving me a ulcer
 
Midway is my main goto gun stuff webstore, I've always had excellent fast shipping and service from them over the years.
I once had a damaged item, customer service was good and resolved quickly. I learned from that however not everything ships direct from them. They had it on their website but once ordered it shipped from the products company which was the problem.
I also feel more recently their cost of shipping has increased, i used to pick the cheapest rate and it always got to me that week anyways. I ordered stuff twice now in the last month but the lowest shipping was well above $15 for each. Just an observation not a pattern, yet. My next package should arrive this Thursday, cheapest shipping was $17.
