That is going to be a No.

Its like Common sense is hard to find now days, but ignorance in its abundance.

A problem is that many older people believe they deserve respect simply for having existed X years.
This is true and often is WISDOM is sometimes paired with RESPECT however NEITHER are simply elements of age, nor should age be 'automatic' criteria for either.

In some cases older people MAY have a 'certain' amount of wisdom and those that do typically use that wisdom carefully which includes a humble and 'retroactive' display of respect between themselves and others - and they are often the 'initiators' of respect and rightfully so, as this then gives others a chance to exhibit an equal display of respect

HOWEVER... FAR too often 'wisdom' is a 'misnomer' for, 'I'm old and earned the right to be grumpy and mean and I'll do as I please/think/believe' and DEMAND RESPECT, OR, 'I'm stuck in the past and can't/won't/don't care to learn anything new or move forward'. Unfortunately many older people with these 'mindsets' are not displaying any 'wisdom' (or respectability) and often they become nothing but stubborn, angry miscreants and hate everything and everyone around them.

There was a time when when age and experience did parlay a certain amount of 'wisdom' and 'experience' and in some cases could be respected and applied to some 'modern' ideas, thoughts and concepts however as 'information tech' progressed it created an ever widening 'gap' between age related 'wisdom' and the ability to seek information.

I all fairness however I know of many 'older' people who maintain open minds, do their best to 'evolve' with the 'times' and do their best to stay up to date (to the best of their abilities) with modern tech, current events and information. Unfortunately I also know of some of the types I previously described....

While I certainly believe he 'past' should be regarded and respected historically and informationally it it needs placed on a 'scale' , so to speak, and given an equal 'balance' to what was 'then' and to what is 'now'.
