I have read through this thread and find much of it redundant, a lot of not useful information and humor.

The only comment that I have for this thread is aimed at the instructions for installing back up sights.

I had this argument with LWRC who sell their sights for over $200 a set. THEY ARE NOT BACK-UP SIGHTS. THEY ARE PRIMARY SIGHTS. The sights that came with my LWRC M6 A2 were wonky and I sent them back twice. The customer service employee tried to convince me that it was no big deal because they were only back up sights. He got a earful from me. It is a long story, so to abbreviate it - I took two of them apart to make one good set and sent them back a pile of 💩

Many rifles come with iron sights installed, especially military rifles. Those are not secondary/back-up sights. For you older folks, what did you use for your first deer hunt? This is especially true with lever actions.

Rant over.
Whenever I hear "LWRC", I always think of this guy

What rifle/pattern is this even?
I think this is close to what is pictured....
M4 profile barreled upper with an A.R.M.S. #58™M-CV Mid-Length S.I.R. (rail interface)
Barrel Clamp Weaver/Picatinny Mount or Basic Tuner

Where can I find Will's solution?
Here is one from the same manufacturer as your hand guard/rail system.
A.R.M.S. Forward Folding Sight Block (has gas port that you wouldn't be using in your application, and it may not fit your barrel profile. You should have at least 1.5" of .750" barrel diameter toward the end of the barrel...and I believe you would need at least 1.85")

If your barrel is a M4 contour, it should be similar to these measurements.

And to answer the original question... So far all of my flip up sights fold down to the stern.

Barrel harmonics. There's a reason newer rifles have front sights on extended free float handguards instead of on the gas block these days. Also a reason good barrel makers used to pin their front sight bases if it's for Match types instead of clamp on or set screws.

A M4 profile is not quite a match profile IMO though.

If you need a longer sight radius, get a longer free float handguard and mount the front sight on it.

If you just want to make use of the railed gas block, forget it; especially if that gas block is set screw or clamp on. Without a gas tube, it is far easier to knock it way out of alignment. Even with a gas tube, it is still easy to knock it out of alignment; unlike the older school pinned front sight bases/gas blocks.

On older rifle barrels, you will note that the front sights are usually dovetailed into the muzzle area with a set screw to tighten it, and many also mounted rear sights on the same barrel to keep things lined up perfectly at the factory. This does a few things, it makes sure your barrel is accurate enough without the receiver being accurately in line, and makes it way easier to replace barrels with sights than having to finagle alignment and such with receiver mounted rear sights and barrel mounted front sights.

Bi-pod forward or backwards?

Discuss…….
Depends on the bipod.
That's actually a legit discussion.
Not really. It just depends on the bipod makers.

Harris types, forward because that's literally how they were designed and made.

Kel-tec SU-16 somethings, backwards because the bipod is the fore end cover.

Grip pods, upwards because grip.

I like my cartoon better.

here's another option for a long front sight.

FYI, that is Paul Kim in this photo, former VP of Engineering at Surefire, and the guy who designed most of their classic lights. This was an old CPF (flashlight forum) joke meme from about 20 years ago: notice that most of the attachments on the rifle are lights (aside from the hood ornament bird and SAK -- LOL).

If you fought in the GWOT or appreciate those who did, this is a guy who definitely deserves our appreciation!
