Its funny how they are worried about guns in the home when deaths from medical malpractice are about 10x higher in the U.S. than firearm related deaths.
So maybe there should be a question asking, "Do you feel safe when visiting your Doctor's office?".

Just filled out an online check in and update to my account at the Dr I use for my DOT physical.....

Left it blank.....just like I left it blank the last three times they asked.

I could legally answer no according to this definition...
  1. Being at hand, within reach or call, within certain contemplated limits; -- opposed to absent.
  2. Now existing, or in process; begun but not ended; now in view, or under consideration; being at this time; not past or future.
"the present session of Congress; the present state of affairs; the present instance."

I'm not 'beholden' to accurately answer a doctor's/staff's requests...

Could this attitude backfire?

Yes, if my answers are related to my medical/health status...

Not, if they're 'busybody' questions.

What next?

Questions about my politics...?

There are questions even my doctor doesn't 'need to know about'...

Mikej,

You're correct regarding "semi-sane Texas".

Yes, even we have 'domestic commies', but they stick to remaining in cities, so I don't g.a.f. about them.

I remain 'out in the country', so their stupidity only bothers me from afar...kinda like my face wrinkles up, like I picked up a dog turd, when homegrown marxists make themselves known...

I've never been worried about my Dr taking my guns, so I answer the question and get on with my life. Having a gun in the house is a risk factor for suicide - I'm not afraid of statistical probability and I don't live under a rock.

Risk factors for suicide with household items...

Rope...
Kitchen knives...
Bathtub / water...
Car and hose...
Prescription and over the counter medicine...
Power tools....
Cleaning agents...
Rat / vermin poison...

Targeting firearms and firearm owners....is easy. / low hanging fruit....and I am not saying that firearms ain't been used for suicide.
However...as my short list above shows.....lots of common household items can do the same....
Why aren't those asked about...?

Andy
