I watched it, definitely really interesting and useful. Definitely have to agree that it would get broken nearly immediately if actually issued to troopers
 
Off hand, can't think of any magazine fed firearm where the rounds aren't spring assisted. Closest thing to gravity assisted feeding would be like a Bofors 40 mm antiaircraft gun extensively used during WWII. The shells were top loaded into the breech from four round clips which had to be replaced by hand. After the empty casing was ejected another round would drop. A loader would be constantly inserting clips to keep up the guns automatic fire.

I can only think of a few. One crew served one; the original Gatling gun. As well as the Colette Gravity Pistol...which is more of a tube type mag.
