I do not know. It just says Colt 357 on the barrel. 42xxx sn. I was told it was a police duty revolver several years ago by the person I purchased it from. The barrel does have "357 magnum ctg" on the barrel under the Colt 357.

Barrel has Colt 357. Not 357 Magnum

i own that in a 6" target model. Its model name was "357" it's not a 1st model Trooper. It has more similarities to the Python that followed it. If it's like mine, the action is beyond belief smooth and locks up without any movement. Here's a good article. https://coltfever.com/the-357-model/

Looking this Colt handgun up on True Gun Value website shows some interesting sales.
A minty slightly used 1960 specimen with the original box and papers last week sold for $2,040 dollars.
For the asking price of the one listed above, I believe that you couldn't go wrong with this vintage .357 Magnum Colt, one that you could actually enjoy shooting and not worry about it.

What model would this be?

I had one of these way back when. Very smooth action and very accurate. Colt 357 is the model. This came out before the Python. I think its pretty close to a python in action. But doesn't have the under lugged barrel of the Python.

They were very close in introduction years..........the 357 was/is an awesome round then and now.
