End of an era for Thunder Ranch.
Curious to see how long the facility survives without Clint's unique style and personality, and the 'family' atmosphere both Clint and Heidi fostered with the students.
Pretty sure Clint can't stop being a teacher of firearms survival skills, so will be interesting to see his future plans.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

As you are all aware, Clint and Heidi sold the Thunder Ranch property and brand in November 2023. Since that time, they have been on the Ranch supporting the business and staff through lectures and all kinds of hard work that is unquantifiable.

Last week, they moved to Cody, Wyoming, to start a new chapter in their lives.

The staff of Thunder Ranch wishes to congratulate them on this giant change and look forward to many more long years and new adventures for them.

To Clint & Heidi -

We wish to thank you for your combined nearly 80 years of dedication to the students, the Ranch, and the doctrine that is Thunder Ranch. The effect you have had on people's safety, mindset, and skill is without peer. We have all collectively learned valuable lessons on what to teach and how to teach it, as well as countless lessons on life, how to treat people, and generally on being good human beings. We are all better for it.

We will all miss the early mornings getting ready for the day, and the late nights after hours, sitting around the table and living room laughing, telling stories and jokes, having some of the best times of our lives…all together. But mostly we will miss them…the personal pieces of advice from Clint. Heidi being the team mom making sure we are taken care of and as comfortable as possible while we work. Cokes, Gatorades, crazy dogs and cats, and sleeping in front of the fireplace.

We love you guys and miss you already.

To the Students -

We appreciate you more than you know. You all make us better, and we learn from every one of you as much as you learn from us. We are still here and are committed to seeing Thunder Ranch continue to grow and refine the foundation and structure that Clint and Heidi provided, and to go forward long after we are all gone from this earth. We have had some great years together and will be here teaching for many more years. This legacy is here to stay.

Thunder Ranch is still staffed with the same people who have been here for many years, with a couple of newer faces here and there. We have the best team possible for the future, and look forward to seeing you in the classroom and on the range deck.

With all of the love in the world,

Team Thunder Ranch
Im happy for him. But sad I never got to take a class from him.

I've always looked up to Clint Smith in the firearms world because of his level headed, no bullsh*t approach to training. It was always a goal of mine to train under him and I was actually looking at attending Thunder Ranch next year to finally do it. It looks like I've missed my chance to do that ☹️

I'm sure the quality of instructing at TR will remain the same and I'll probably still go, but it sucks to know that I just barely missed my chance to learn from one of the best. Hopefully he enjoys his retirement because its well deserved. Whoever fills the vacuum left by him will have big shoes to fill.
