Is this a black powder cartridge shotgun...
Or is it a muzzle loading shotgun...?

What do you mean by "really strong barrels'...?

Dents and dings in a damascus shotgun barrel can make or break it ....literally .
The breech is also important to consider...as well as the soundness of the stock and the lock works.

Barrel thickness....can make a difference , as well as pits in the bore....especially with a damascus barrel.

It is a cartridge gun built by L C Smith .Strong beautiful heave stun twist barrels in 90% condition. I have several Damascus Smith that I shoot light smokeless loads 1150 fps all the time with no issues Condition is everything.But I'm wanting to load BP shells to be safer.any info would be appreciated.Thankyou
