There were american imported NIB 92S's. When the military wanted to include the Beretta in the search for a new sidearm Beretta changed the design to the 92SB. It was used in the trials and when they won the contract Beretta changed the model designation to the 92F that included the change in the trigger guard. When I was dealing in guns back in the late 70's and early 80's I sold 4 or 5 NIB 92S's. I still have a 92SB that Beretta made for about 3 years before the 92F.
