I gave my dad a GP100 and a box of good JHPs, so that he would have a decent house gun. I checked on it a a year or so later. He had it downloaded to 5 rounds "for safety". A holstered gun strapped to the bed frame. I explained the transfer bar, no hammer pin resting on primer, hammer strikes the bar which strikes the firing pin, no way to fire unless the trigger is pulled. He nodded and said OK, and I loaded the piece with 6. Checked a year later…..5 rds in the gun.
I explained again….same outcome.
Sometimes you can't win.
