.280 Rem vs .280 AI

Hey there friends. I have a Rem 700 Mountain in .280 Rem. I have been thinking about a carbon barrel chambered in .280 AI. What are your thoughts? I spend a great part of my hunts walking, I don't have many "stand" spots so I went with the light rifle. I love it but thought maybe a little more stretch might be good.

No weight benefit to a carbon barrel, but dont scratch it if you do.
You can get the right barrel profile to keep the gun lightweight, just consult with a gunsmith.
Its worth it to go to an AI chamber but at this point Id recommend the saami 280ai chamber not the old Remington AI chamber.
