Wanted to buy. Had several as a youngster and just would like to have another. I don't want anything with crazy modifications, things like upgraded motor or interior are fine, just no 8" lift kits (4" and under is probably fine) Preference would be given to a 72, I might consider a 67-71 considering what it is.

No projects. Must run and drive under its own power. Will pay reasonable money for the right rig

(I ran a craigslist add wanting to buy and the only reply's I got where for a $6500 GMC that was a basket case and a $9000 Chevy that didn't run. I have looked at a lot of these trucks over the years and know for a fact you can buy a nice, clean running rig for $7000-$10,000. I might spend $15,000 or even $20,000 on a nice restoration and would be interested in a $5,000 truck that was just a clean tired old girl. I am willing to pay a fair price, I am not willing to spend $10,000 on a $3000 truck. I dont want a show truck or a hot rod. If its got a blown small block or $10,000 worth of chrome I am not interested. I want a truck I can drive.

If you think your rusty hulk with no motor is worth $5,000 dont bother sending me a PM)

1000 miles maybe? Of course closer is better and I would probably go farther for something I thought was a good buy. I would love to find another in my backyard but I have little hope of that at this point.

You check Auto-trader magazines? I seen some in there, you might be better off buying two fixers and a motor, use one as a parts truck and basically restore the other to driving condition. Or put a older cab on a newer frame. Just ideas. Good luck.

I wish they made a crew cab of the generation truck.

I'll keep my eyes open in the Portland area.
A friend of mine pays a generous reward to garbage collectors and mail carriers for helping him find vehicles such as the one you're looking for. Those folks see thousands of garages, driveways and carports everyday.
Last year I was looking for one of those Toyota RV's like a Dolphin or Sunrader.
I took to driving down different side streets while coming home. I found at least 3 a week, but the nice ones weren't for sale and the beaters weren't worth fixing up.

Back when I just had a job I built two 1972 Chevy trucks. one was a 4x4 short box that I built a 454 for and swapped in a NP205 and TH400. I owned the truck 16 years. I had the body off the frame several times, truck had three motors and two trannys while I owned it. The interior was all redone and it was in perfect mechanical shape (but I never got around to painting it) The other was a 72 GMC short box two wheel drive that was a 402 truck I bought without a motor. I put a hot 350 in it and drove it as a daily driver through much of the mid 90's. It was lowered, painted fire engine red and was a great truck.

These days I own a business, all my time is spent working on other peoples stuff. I no longer have the luxury of spending the countless hours it takes to put a truck like this together. The trade off is I can spend the $15,000 to buy a truck that would have been completely out of reach when I had a job.

Looking back, do you ever wonder why you sold it.

Oh I know exactly why I sold it, and yes I regret it. When I came to Seattle in 2001 I had this truck and a bag full of dirty laundry. Besides some debt it was all I left Idaho and my marriage with. The truck being what it was took money to keep up and it seemed like every time I turned around it took $500-$1000 to keep it on the road. Making $12/hr and trying to get my life back together and commuting in Seattle.... I ended up trading this for a jeep, mostly because it was a rig that was cheap to drive and fix in comparison.

I got next to nothing for it really and of course its pretty hard to replace. At the time though it seemed like a reasonable thing to do.

I was checking out "All of Craigslist" when this bad boy popped up.
He's only asking $15,400 for it. Problem is that it's down in Texas.
Costs $875.00 to ship.

1970 CHEVY K10 SHORT WHEEL BASE 4X4 FULLY CUSTOM TRUCK!

Up for sale is an amazing fully custom RESTORED K10 Short Wheel Base 4 Wheel Drive Truck! Sadly the time has come where I have to part ways with a few of my toys out of my precious car collection and this happens to be one of them. I started this build late 2011 and finished late 2013 with more added the following years to this current day! So lots of time, money and more money with lots of $00000 have gone into the build resulting in what you're seeing now! I own an Auto Repair Shop which can be very dangerous and expensive at the same time. Especially since I have all the labor I need at cost and parts from every source possible also at cost that leads to no expense spared with an open blank check book! This is a TRUE Short Wheel Base, factory AC and 4 Wheel Drive truck!

Here is the breakdown of the build. Get comfy because there is a lot here about this truck that I am going to tell you....

*PAINT/ COLOR*

Everything on this truck is either GREEN (Paint Color DODGE FACTORY 2009 Dodge Viper Snake Skin Green) or coated in a durable BLACK Bed liner. I'd warn you that there is a lot of Green but there's definitely no hiding it!! I chose this color because I wanted something different and I never ever planned on selling the truck so I wasn't worried as long as I liked it. So if you're not a fan of Green I doubt this truck will be for you. You'll notice small attention to detail things painted green throughout the whole truck. This helps make the black stand out and fit well into the design of the paint scheme.

So here are more details on what you're seeing.

-Exterior- Green paint touches the Front/ Rear Wheel Hub's, Gill, Bumpers, Door handles and Rear Differential Cover. The Bed is fully covered in Black Bed Liner material including the 2 extra gas can holders in the corners of the bed that I added during the build.

-Engine bay- Green paint touches the Air Filter housing, Brake Booster and Brake Master Cylinder. Everything else has been coated in durable BLACK Bed Liner Material such as the radiator core support, tow hooks, inner fender wells, hood hinges and the underside of the hood.

-Interior- The whole inside of the cab, dash, doors, floors and steering column is also painted Green. This goes really well with the new Black Visors, Seat Cover, Carpet, Dash Pad, Arm Rests and bottom Door panel covers. Aftermarket gauges (RPM, Volts, Oil Pres., Water Temp), Brand New Radio 4.1 inch screen with lots of features such as Bluetooth, USB, SD Card and Back up camera!

ENGINE/ TRANSMISSION/ 4 WHEEL DRIVE/ SUSPENSION

-Engine- GM 350 Good Wrench Crate Engine that has an Edelbrock Intake Manifold and Carburetor fitted to it flowing through long tube headers into stainless steel exhaust out of performance mufflers. New Battery, Battery Cables, Alternator, Aluminum Fan blade, Coolant Tank, Coolant hoses, Power Steering Hoses, AC Hoses, Gaskets, Seals and so much more..

-Transmission is a matching 350 with upgraded internals, shift kit, External Fluid Cooler with an Electric Cooling Fan.
Manual 4 Wheel Drive is fully functional and works just as it should. Front/ Rear Differential and Transfer case fluids all recently serviced.

-Suspension- All Shocks have been replaced

-Wheels/ Tires- Newer 33 inch mud terrain Tires mounted on 15 inch Black Wheels.

Truck Runs like a BEAST and fires up every time!! Always Garage kept and with that being said over the past few years from sitting it has encountered a few small scratches or scraps here or there from the kid's toys or just the unknown as they say. So as sad as it makes me to see it go it just hurts even more to watch it just sit there day after day!

I have included some pictures when I started the build.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have or to set up a time to come see it and drive it yourself! I'm not in a financial bind, I don't have to sell it and I refuse to just give it away. I am setting aside all sentimental value I have for this truck and listing it for a firm fair asking price that is not even close to what $$$$ I have invested into it. I will not negotiate on the price any further except in person with a serious cash buyer!
