1917 erfurt 8mm mauser

Got it from another guy in her that got it also from someone else on here.

Guns in pretty decent shape shoots great.
Dont see these come uo to often.

So this is either a bubba put together from random mauser parts, or a g98 shortened to a k98k length by the Germans prior to ww2. The stock and upper band are wrong, but are there any barrel markings?

I havnt tore it down to see. I took it to a shop/collector and he didnt seem to have anything weird to say about it.

This is not in original k98a configuration. Not even close. The stock looks Yugoslavian to me.

K98a stocks are very expensive. I went through the trouble of making a turning a Turkish Ankara 38 stock into a k98a stock when I saw the price they were going for.

Took me a hell of lot of time and that was before buying the weird barrel bands. I can absolutely see how someone would just throw a 98a into a random large ring stock and call it a day, even if it looks a bit funny with the small ring receiver.
