Ammo isn't the cheapest in town, but I understand the scenario
Did a rifle transfer and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He was very patient with the buyer who went through a few 4473s due to some errors. Very knowledgeable about firearms as well. Great meeting spot if you need to meet someone off I-5.
I found this shop through a referral about a year ago. I found Gordon to be very helpful, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. He has a good selection and is always willing to order what you need. I have used this shop for several private party transfers. The transfer fees are very reasonable. I will continue to visit this FFL and recommend others that are looking for a good FFL.
Definitely worth the drive from the Eugene area! Been there multiple times.

Pros
Always well worth the drive from the Eugene area
Great shop, and amazing customer service too
Gordon is always polite, professional and friendly even after making multiple trips from the Eugene area over the last couple of years just to do firearm transfers, trades, etc. Every encounter has always been a pleasant experience. Well worth the 100+ mile drive in my opinion, always doing multiple transactions.
Oh, and I actually did buy a couple of firearms from him, this year as well as last year.
Sunset Firearms is ALWAYS my go to FFL up north, and it's always a pleasure to do business with him.
i have had good experiences and bad but for the most part good. after the last bad one I havent been back but its probably time to swing through and see what he
has again.
Gordon runs a tight ship at Sunset Firearms. He has a small space, but keeps a surprisingly robust inventory of firearms, ammunition, and accessories. Gordon does online transfers, and his FFL info is pre-registered with most of the online vendors. Gordon is personable and professional--more so than I have experienced at other shops.
Inflation has hit Gordon too, however. When I went to the shop on 9/2/2021 his transfer fee was $40.
Despite this, his shop will still be my go to place.
My new preferred place to transfer near I-5.
You can find an AK for sale on the wall there.
Great selection for such crappy times.
Transfer fee, $30 for private parties. Fast, easy, will use SSF again.
My wife went into to pickup a firearm she bought from a online retailer and shipped to sunset firearms. She had a great experience and had a friendly conversation while waiting for background check. Her experience at sunset firearms has won my business for future purchases. Thank you guys
Quick / Low Cost Transfers, Quality Firearms, Pleasant Atmosphere.
Cons
None. I hope Gordon stays in business for a long time.
Gordon is an absolute pleasure to deal with, the first time I met him we transferred two firearms in under 20 minutes. Has a great little spot with mostly new firearms, some used but in excellent shape. Would come here again anytime, and highly recommend. Drove out to his shop from Metro PDX to avoid the Pawn Shop scalping. At the time of my visit (Q1/2019) transfer fees were $30.00. (10 BG / 20 TX).
I've been going to Sunset Firearms for about 3 years now. Gordon is always super helpful and treats me very well. He's fine with me having firearms shipped to him when I find something hard to get cheaper online. If he can, he'll always try to get something for me at the best price possible. The only caveat here; it's best to call ahead to be sure he's there since he's a one man shop.
