Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
While I acknowledge that a national chain may not provide the personalized service of a mom-and-pop store, my experiences with purchasing firearms and ammunition here have posed some challenges. The primary issue is severe understaffing at the gun counter, which significantly impacts the buying process in several ways.
You can expect to wait 15-20 minutes before receiving any assistance on most days. Once attended to, there's only a brief moment to inspect a firearm on display before staff must move on to the next customer.
Due to inadequate staffing, it's difficult to reach them by phone, making pre-sale/post-sale follow-up virtually impossible unless done in person.
They unfortunately do not spend sufficient time to update inventory accurately. There have been numerous instances where a firearm marked as "pick up in store" is unavailable. Same goes for ammunition.
This is not a personal critique of any of the individual folks that work here. It's just not a very well run store which is unfortunate because the selection is quite expansive and I would certainly have bought more guns here if I didn't find the process as frustrating.
